Asparagus: Fresh, seasonal, and delicious. Totally weather dependant as to when this will start, however usually around the 14th of April and in full swing throughout May aiming to finish by the longest day, June 21st. Will update the website and harvestline when a start date becomes clearer.
Rhubarb: We will be pulling Raspberry Red in late April and continue into June.
Gooseberries: Green gooseberries start early in June and continue for 3 weeks. Red gooseberries will be available in late June. (only a short season as we don’t have many at the moment).
Cherries: Starting with Folfer in late June and continuing until the 3rd week of July. Our cherries in season are something not to be missed! We also grow Morello cherries, great for cherry brandy or a superlative jam!
Raspberries: We start harvesting about the 3rd week of July and we continue with a range of varieties until August. Also look out for our Loch Tay blackberries in August.
Hybrid berries: We will have both Logan and Tayberries this summer
Blackcurrants: Start with Ben Gairn on July 4th and end with Ben Tirran on August 8th (usually!)
Redcurrants: Mid July for about 3 weeks.
Plums: Our first plums are Herman in early July then we continue with Opal, Jubilee, Valor, President, Marjories, President and Guinevere finshing in mid September.
Damsons: normally we will be picking these over the August Bank Holiday.
Apples: Discovery in early August, continuing with Red Devil then Cox’s & Gala in September. Look out for other traditional varieties throughout the season too.
Pears: We now grow a range of summer and autumn pears. Now also Perry pears, so if you want to have a go at making perry, give us a call.
Hazelnuts: We grow several varieties and start picking Tonda de Gifoni in mid-August and end with Corabel in September. If you haven’t tried fresh, milky hazelnuts you’re missing an early autumn treat. We can certainly understand why the squirrels love them so much!
